The Rhine-Main Region is more than an economic engine – it's a research superstar, too. It plays host to more than 100 scientific research institutes and 18 universities. Frankfurt’s academic credentials are impressive: Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University, numerous universities of applied sciences, three Max Planck Institutes for biophysics, brain research and European legal history, the Senckenberg Research Institute and many other scientific institutions.

The region's private-sector research is equally sophisticated – witness the specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical and biotech companies located at Industriepark Höchst. The Rhine-Main Cluster Chemistry & Pharma is a strong science and industry network that has grown and evolved over the years. Industriepark Höchst is also home to Provadis School, which specializes in teaching trainees and active professionals the skills they need to succeed.
